Weekend 5: Warsash SC - Tera South RTS 2024/25

Our fifth training weekend took us to Warsash SC where we welcomed all 40 sailors from the South RTS. The focus for the weekend was strategy; specifically looking at the beginning and ending of legs:

• Upwind leg off the start line

• On the approach to the windward mark

• Analysing the windward beat to influence the run

• The approach to the leeward mark and choosing which mark

It was a great weekend with Warsash providing some tricky and challenging conditions with the wind coming from the NE off the mainland and cross tides. I managed to get around all of the groups across the rigs to see their development!

It is great to see their progression over the winter and look forward to our seeing their performance at the upcoming Start of Season Championship, Battle of Regions and our final squad training next month.
