23 May 2025
Summary - "A wide wind range from VMG mode to depowering so changing rig settings will be beneficial. Wind peaking in the middle of races when it becomes sunnier."
Key Weather Details
Wind: 11/14 knots gusting 23/27 from WSW to W
Tide: High water 12:33
Water State: Possibly choppy for the beginning of race 1 and flatter once the tide swtiches for the afternoon
Temperature & Precipitation: 17-19 degrees and wet in the morning and evening
Other Notes: Possibly when the rain weakens, the wind picks up to the peak of the day (about 13:00-14:00)

The topography shows a higher area right to the south west of the map above so it is likely that the wind will funnel down the Firth and Fourth. Closer to the sailing area, there is a small rise in the headland to the bridge meaning, depending on the placement of the windward mark, it could get really shifty, very quickly.

Tactical Considerations
Things to find out when you get afloat:
Tidal influences in the bay, whether the tides shifts around in the bay and whether the little harbour has an impact.
Wind difference at the top of the course as this will play into high and fast or low and slow around the windward marks.
We are at the start of a long series, so play it consistent and get counting results on the board.
